Vice President Bawumia engages constituents of Ketu North, Ketu South, Akatsi South and Central Tongu constituencies

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Wednesday October 23, 2024, engaged constituents of the Ketu North, Ketu South, Akatsi South and Central Tongu in the Volta Region as part of his constituency-focused campaign.

He has shared his vision to transform, modernize and make Ghana a more holistically prosperous country. His policies for Ghana’s next chapter include infusion of technology into the agriculture value chain, setting up District Agric Mechanization Centres across the country, tax amnesty, harnessing the sun and wind to generate energy to support Ghana’s current source of energy, zero duty on the importation of solar panels, free tertiary education for persons living with disabilities, expansion of educational infrastructure, reposition Ghana’s education system towards STEM and AI, one student one laptop for tertiary students, easy passport acquisition with the GhanaCard, training of 1,000,000 youth, establishment of the Ghana Sports Secretariat, credit score system, among others.

Dr. Bawumia has added, “As indicated in my Manifesto, a major focus of a Bawumia Presidency will be agriculture, justified by data which indicates about 60% of Ghanaians are engaged in that vital endeavour. Apart from establishing District Agric Mechanization Centres across the country, we will also facilitate the setting up of area-appropriate factories to add value and reduce post-harvest losses arising from a glut in production.”

Dr. Bawumia further highlighted on the achievements of Government which include the expansion of roads, construction of interchanges, expansion of educational infrastructure, the Ghana Card, QR code, TVET, STEM schools, Tap ‘n’ Go, mobile money interoperability, Free SHS, paperless port system, online passport application,  the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) skills training, the Bitumen Plant at Tema, Agenda 111, 1 District 1 Factory, 1 District 1 Warehouse, digitalization of membership and renewal of National Health Insurance, ECG App, Ghana Water App, among others.

He has expressed appreciation to the constituents of Ketu North, Ketu South, Akatsi South and Central Tongu for their warm reception and has urged them to vote for him and the NPP Parliamentary Candidates in their respective constituencies in the December 7 election.
