The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Thursday July 25, 2024, engaged constituents of the Jirapa, Sissala West and Sissala East constituencies in the Upper West Region, as part of his ongoing constituency-focused campaign.
In various meetings with the Chiefs, stakeholders and youth of these constituencies, Dr. Bawumia has explained his vision and policies regarding mining, among other game changing policies, when voted as President in the December 7 polls.
He noted that his new mining policies include, “the establishment of a Mining Development Bank, resourcing the Geological Survey Department to undertake major exploration, ensuring 100% Ghanaian ownership of proven reserves earmarked for small-scale mining, establishment of plant pools in mining areas to promote shared user facilities, decentralizing the mining licensing regime to all mining districts, and promotion of licensed community mining schemes to create more jobs and wealthy Ghanaians.”
The Chiefs and people of Jirapa, Sissala West and Sissala East constituencies have expressed great joy and confidence in these policies as they will further enhance development in Ghana.
