The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Wednesday May 8, 2024, engaged with traditional rulers of the Bono Region, as apart of his nationwide community outreach.
He noted that, the meeting was geared towards informing them of his visit to the region, update them on some national issues, as well as share his vision for the country when given the nod as President of the Republic with them, which include ensuring a holistic inclusive national development agenda. This he said, “will enhance the participation of our chiefs in the governance of the country.”
Dr. Bawumia has pledged to ensure the involvement of traditional rulers in the licensing of miners. He has also expressed appreciation to the traditional rulers for the counsel he has received, as well as their commitment to work collaboratively with him.
