The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Tuesday October 29, 2024, welcomed the United Nations (UN) Secretary General’s Special Representative and Head of the UN Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), Mr. Leonardo Santos Simao, to the Jubilee House in Accra.
He noted that, “Ghana and the UN System has always had very good relations, and during our discussions I assured Mr. Simao of my personal and the Government’s commitment to ensuring the peace before, during and after the December 7 polls.”
Dr. Bawumia added that Mr. Simao has pledged the support of the United Nations to Ghana’s continued growth and development.
