H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was the Special Guest at the Democratic Union Africa (DUA) Annual Forum, on Thursday August 8, 2024, in Accra.
He noted that, “As African countries strive to entrench democracy on the continent it is essential to recognize the intrinsic link between democracy, rule of law and economic development. Democracy and the rule of law create an environment where individual freedoms are protected, innovation thrives and economic activities flourish”.
Dr. Bawumia has therefore urged African leaders and governments to work towards citizen empowerment through education, quality healthcare for general well-being, promotion of free enterprise and individual liberties, digitalization for transport and efficient governance and closer cooperation.
