H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic, has on Thursday November 30, 2023, addressed thousands of youth across the country at the YouStart Grant Expo, themed; “Empowering Youth Entrepreneurs For A Resilient Economy”, in Accra.
Dr. Bawumia has disclosed that, “Government has made available Ghs 100 million as grant funding and training to thousands of mostly you-led start-ups and Micro, Small and medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) as part of a deliberate, ongoing effort to generate a critical mass of youth entrepreneurs to leverage Ghana’s largely youthful population to stimulate economic empowerment and development”.
He further added that Government is committed to making available the necessary training and funding to the Ghanaian youth to equip them to make it on their own and contribute their quota to national development.
The YouStart Programme is a Government of Ghana initiative to support the youth build commercially viable businesses to create a million jobs in the economy over the next three years. The objective of the programme is to build an entrepreneurial nation through a youth-centred approach.
