Vice President of the Republic, H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has welcomed H.E Francia Elena Marquez Mina, the Vice President of Colombia to the Jubilee House today.
“H.E Marquez Mina is on a two-day official visit to Ghana, as the head of a government and business delegation to explore opportunities to deepen ties between our two countries”, Dr. Bawumia said.
He added that, the Republic of Columbia has the third largest population of African descendants after Brazil and the United States, and H.E Marquez Mina is the first Afro-Colombian to become a Vice President in Colombia.
Dr. Bawumia further stated that the two countries have explored potential areas of collaboration, saying, “we explored potential areas of collaboration between our two countries, including tourism, agriculture, information technology, education and sports”.
H.E Marquez Mina is set to visit the Manhyia Palace on September 7, 2023.
