H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic, has on November 25, 2023, joined the Chief of the Wangara Community in Ghana, Masaba Fanyinama III, and his people to celebrate the 25th Annual Benkade Kurubi festival in Kintampo.
As part of the celebration, Dr. Bawumia has been enskinned as “Benkelemasa” in honour of his positive personality as a unifier who reaches out to all groups.
Dr. Bawumia has expressed appreciation for this honour saying, “I am immensely grateful to Chief Fanyinama III and the Wangara Community in Ghana, for the hounour of enskinning me as “Benkelemasa”, which means one who unites”.
He has also commended the Wangara Community for upholding the festival and has urged them, as well as other groups and communities, to remain united and not allow their cordial relationships with others to be derailed by persons with selfish, political objectives.
Dr. Bawumia further added that, this honour will to continue to be a leader for all, irrespective of ethnic, religious or political differences.
