H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), joined Ghanaians on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Jubilee House to plant trees across the country in honour of Green Ghana Day 2024.
He noted that, “…the Green Ghana Initiative, launched in 2021 by the government, has succeeded in getting millions of trees planted across the country.” Adding that, trees are essential to human survival, therefore there is the need to continue planting new trees and protect the old the in order preserve the environment.
The Green Ghana Day is a day is set aside for planting trees in damaged forest reserves, as well as in and around recreational areas, parks, road medians, among others.
