Vice President Bawumia engages key stakeholders of the Council of Indigenous Business Association

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on March 25, 2024, engaged key stakeholders of the Council of Indigenous Business Association (CIBA) in Accra.

He noted that the CIBA happens to be the largest informal business group in Ghana and contributes significantly to the creation of jobs and the development of the country’s economy, but has most of their members barred from numerous activities since they are not formalized.

“I, therefore, encouraged members who have not yet registered their businesses to do so, in order to benefit from government initiatives, which are aimed at boosting their businesses”, Dr. Bawumia further noted.

Dr. Bawumia again expounded on his planned tax reforms, including a business-friendly proposal for tax amnesty for businesses and individuals, as well as a flat tax rate to support the growth of businesses.
