The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Tuesday June 11, 2024, met with the youth in the Ashanti Region as part of his ongoing community outreach in an event dubbed, “Bawumia Youth Connect”.
Addressing the crowd of enthusiastic youth, he stated that, “My government will train one million youth in digital skills and software development as well invest in technical and vocational training to empower them”. Again, my government will reduce electricity tariffs by utilizing solar energy with a target of producing 2000 megawatts of solar power which is equivalent to more than half percent of Ghana’s electricity consumption and help boost business to ensure better living conditions for all.”
Dr. Bawumia further added that, his government will introduce flat rate on import duties to aid businessmen and women in the prediction of the import duties they will pay. The small-scale mining sector will also be formalized, and miners will be given licenses to operate to help safeguard our environment, among other policies.
He has as well assured them of his accountability to Ghanaians hence, he will make good use of the mandate given him, when voted into office.
