Vice President of the Republic, H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on January 7, 2024, commissioned an ultra-modern sports complex at Nalerigu, for the youth of area and its environs.
The sports complex which was fully funded by H.E Dr. Bawumia, is named after the Overlord of Mamprugu, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga II. Facilities encompassing the complex include a standard astro turf, a VIP stand, changing rooms, stands with seating capacity of 1000 people, offices, as well as expanded standing areas for future expansion.
Dr. Bawumia noted that, “The Naa Sheriga Sports Complex will not only enhance sports development in the community, it will also be used as a recreational centre, as it can host many social events”.
He has expressed gratitude to all dignitaries who joined him for the commissioning of the sports complex, which include Stephen Appiah, Asamoah Gyan, Laryea Kingston and Emmanuel Armah ‘Senegal’.
