The Vice President of the Republic, H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has commended Nene Sakite II, Chiefs and the people of Manya Krobo Traditional Area for sustaining their rich tradition and custom, when he joined them to mark the 25 th Anniversary of the enstoolment of Nene Sakite II, Paramount Chief of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, on May 26, 2023.
Addressing the gathering at the durbar, Dr. Bawumia noted that, “…the chieftaincy institution helps to promote peace in society. It ensures stability and development and serves as a unifying force. The chieftaincy institution also brings people together and helps preserve the culture of the people”.
“Celebrating 25 years on the throne as a Paramount Chief or Konor is no mean achievement, especially in those the past and present traditions did not only manifest in music and dance but in the better lives of the people in the municipality” “… permit me to commend the Manya Krobo Traditional Area for maintaining and safeguarding its cultural heritage. Indeed, Manya Krobo is one of the Traditional Areas in the country that have great cultural attributions” he added.
Dr. Bawumia has assured Nene Sakite II of Government’s continuous partnership for more development in the area and has listed several infrastructure projects the Government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has built for the area, including classroom blocks, extension of electricity, health facilities, among others.
