“Prioritize investing in the digital capacities of young Ghanaians”- Vice President Bawumia to stakeholders in the telcos and fintech industry

Vice President of the Republic and the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on March 11, 2024, joined key players in the telecommunications industry for the official launch of operations of Telecel Ghana, in Accra.

Welcoming Telecel Ghana, Dr. Bawumia has urged them to uphold the highest form of ethics in their operations, saying, “…I urged them to uphold the highest standards of ethics, transparency and corporate governance, and also, to expand their network and be more innovative in their operations, in order to ensure accessible, safe, affordable and reliable network services to their customers.”

He further stated that, “I also urged Telecel Ghana, and other stakeholders in the telcos and fintech industry, to, as part of their corporate social responsibilities, prioritize investing in the digital capacities of young Ghanaians, to contribute towards shaping the future of Ghana, as the country embraces the 4th Industrial Revolution.”

Telecel Ghana has acquired majority ownership of the company formerly known as Vodafone Ghana, hence the name change.
