The Vice President of the Republic, H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has commended the contributions of progressive groups such as COBAANA in national development, when he joined the Chiefs and citizens of Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions, for the Annual Convention of the Council of Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Associations of Continental North America (COBAANA) in Sunyani, on May 28, 2023.
“Government welcomes the contributions of progressive groups such as COBAANA, whose initiatives complement government’s effort at developing our country”, he said.
Dr. Bawumia noted that, the 2023 COBAANA Convention themed, The Health of People Is Our Concern”, was aimed at raising funds to support the establishment of a dialysis center in the area, which is the latest development initiative of the Association, established by indigens of Bono and Ahafo in North America 20 years ago.
In attendance were Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, Omanhene of Dormaa- Ahenkro and other dignitaries from Ghana and the diaspora.
