H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic, has on June 16 2023, filed his nomination forms for the flagbearer ship race for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), at the party’s headquarters in Accra.
Addressing the horde of supporters who accompanied him to file his nomination forms, Dr. Bawumia said, “I also have my own vision for Ghana. I believe that it is time to move Ghana to the next level by building on the foundations we have put in place so far. Together with you, I want to see a Ghana where we leverage technology, data and systems for inclusive economic growth. I want to make Ghana the digital hub of Africa. I want us to bridge the digital divide and apply digital technology and artificial intelligence for the transformation of healthcare, education and public service delivery, among others”.
Dr. Bawumia added that, he is ready to build with the good people of Ghana, a country that has food security, maximize the benefits of the nation’s natural resources, enhance the current industrialization strategy the nation has embarked on, enhanced robust fiscal discipline, an empowered local business sector and provide incentives to the private sector, a developed and efficient credit systems, energy self-sufficiency, an enhanced focus on the private and public sector investments, among others.
He has expressed gratitude for the massive support thus far, and is soliciting for the full support of all delegates, to make his vision to take Ghana to the next level a reality, saying, “…I am offering myself, in all humility, to contest in the primaries of this phenomenal party, the great New Patriotic Party, to become our flagbearer, and presidential candidate for election 2024 and Insha Allah, the President of the Republic of Ghana. I am counting on your support from now through primaries to the general election in December 2024 and beyond. By the grace of God, Insha Allah, victory will be ours”.
