The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Thursday May 9, 2024, delivered the keynote address at the 14th Commonwealth Regional Conference and Annual General Meeting of Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in Africa, in Accra.
He has underscored the vital role of digitalization in the fight against corruption and also emphasized on how digitalizing has enhanced transparency and helped in the fight against corruption in Ghana’s public service delivery.
Dr. Bawumia noted that, “With the significant strides Ghana has made in digitalization, I also spoke of plans by my government, by the grace of God, to adopt blockchain technology to ensure that all data and transactions in the government space are transparent and tamper-proof that, no one can change them.” Adding that, this can position Ghana as the first blockchain-powered government in Africa.
