Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has launched the Business and Employment Assistance Programme, a latest business and youth intervention by the Government, on December 11, 2023, in Sunyani.
Dr. Bawumia has indicated that, “the initiative, driven by the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), seeks to support 10,000 businesses owned by young Ghanaians, to employ 20,000 youth, whose salaries will be paid by the YEA. This will help to sustain and grow these businesses, as well as provide job opportunities”.
He has added that, the Business and Employment Assistance Programme, as well as other youth interventions under the YEA and under agencies, highlights Government’s commitment to creating more jobs and opportunities for the youth, in addition to the 2.1 million jobs created by Government in the public and private sectors over the last seven years.
