Vice President of the Republic, H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has charged new recruits of the Narcotics Control Commission Cadet Intake 7, to heed to the principles of hard work, patriotism and integrity in the execution of their duties, at the passing out ceremony, held at the Ghana Immigration Training School, Assin Foso, on April 28, 2023.
In his address as the Special Guest of Honour, he noted that Government has work hard in creating many opportunities for the recruitment of personnel into the security services.
“As an example, when we assumed office in 2017 the Immigration Service had a total staff of 2,850 officers. Today, six years later, the number has increased to 14,300 as we have increased training, accommodation and other facilities. By contrast, in the 8 years before we came into office the number of people recruited into the Immigration service was less than 500 in total”, he added.
Dr. Bawumia reiterated Government’s commitment to fight the menace of illicit drugs and help the vulnerable focus their energies on self and societal development.
In attendance, were the Interior Minister, Mr. Ambrose Dery, Board Chairman of NACOC, Mr. Kaiffe Mensah, the Director-General of NACOC, Mr. Kenneth Adu-Manfoah, the Comptroller of the Ghana Immigration Service, Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi, among other dignitaries.
