Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has on November 29, 2023, joined the various stakeholders for the launch of the 100-day countdown to the 13th African Games, in Accra.
Dr. Bawumia has as part of the 100-day countdown, inspected the ultra-modern facilities constructed in Borteyman and the University of Ghana, earmarked for the Games.
“These beautiful, multi-purpose facilities do not only demonstrate Ghana’s readiness to host the rest of Africa, but also underline the unprecedented investment our government has made in the provision of sports infrastructure, including 10 sports stadia in each of the 10 old regions, to aid sports development in the country”, he said.
He again noted that, hosting the African Games will bring a wide range of benefits to Ghana as sports has moved a step further from being just a game.
The 13th African Games, slated for March 2024, will be hosted in Ghana for the first time.
