In a strong show of grassroots support, over 490 youth organizers from across the country today, August 13, 2025, contributed funds to purchase the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential nomination forms for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to contest in the January 31st presidential primary.
The youth organizers, representing the party’s vibrant base, visited Dr. Bawumia’s campaign office to officially present the form. Their gesture underscores the deep trust and confidence the youth have in Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, vision, and commitment to the future of Ghana.
Addressing the organizers, Dr. Bawumia reiterated his dedication to policies that place young people at the heart of national development. “A lot of the ideas I’ll be coming to the table with are youth-centered ideas,” he emphasized, assuring the youth that their aspirations and opportunities will remain a priority in his agenda.
Dr. Bawumia also called for unity within the NPP, urging members to focus on shared goals rather than internal divisions. “Let us begin with unity and end with unity,” he stated, stressing that harmony within the party is crucial for victory in the upcoming elections.
Touching on the tone of the campaign ahead, he appealed for a contest driven by substance rather than hostility. “This contest should be about ideas and not insults and attacks,” he remarked, signaling his intent to maintain a respectful and issue-based campaign.
