Vice President of the Republic and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Thursday February 22, 2024, joined the Ameer and Missionary in charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, and the Ahmadiyya fraternity to mark the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the Ahmadiyya Mission in Ghana and the Mission’s 91st Annual Convention in Pomadzie, in the Central Region.
He noted that, “Since its establishment in the then Gold Coast, the Ahmadiyya Mission has contributed immensely to the development of Ghana, in many spheres, especially in health, education, peacebuilding, good governance and advancing good morals”.
Dr. Bawumia further commended the Mission for the establishment of some social amenities saying, “With 7 hospitals and 315 educational institutions to their credit, the Mission’s contribution to expanding access to education is truly remarkable, and I commended them for their effort, which is in line with our government’s vision of providing free inclusive access to secondary education”.
In attendance were members of the Mission across the country, members from Togo, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Benin and Uganda.
