Vice President Bawumia shares his vision for Ghana’s future

Vice President of the Republic and the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on February 7, 2023, delivered a speech on his vision for the country at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium in UPSA, Accra.

Addressing the nation, he stated that, “My vision is to create a tent big enough to accommodate all our people, to tap into the resourcefulness and talents of our people irrespective of our different ethnic, political and religious backgrounds, to channel our energies into building the kind of country that assures a food self-sufficient, safe, prosperous, and dignified future for all Ghanaians, to create sustainable jobs with meaningful pay for all, and for Ghana to participate fully in the fourth industrial revolution using systems and data”.

He further elaborated on the various routes to achieving his vision through a mindset of possibilities, in the areas of sustained macroeconomic stability, prudent management of government expenditure, increase revenue and leverage the private sector, the introduction of a new tax system, build a digital economy and make Ghana a digital hub, reduce the cost of living, power sector reform, maximize the benefits of natural resources, increase Ghana’s gold reserves to support the cedi, industrialization for jobs, dealing with corruption through digitization and a cashless society, develop a credit system, national development plan, constitutional review, collaboration with faith-based organizations, tourism, sports and creative arts, care for the vulnerable and special needs, continuity of the Free S.H.S policy, among others.

In attendance were Former President, John Agyekum Kufuor, First Lady of the Republic, H.E Mrs. Rebecca Akuffo-Addo, Second Lady of the Republic, H.E Mrs. Samira Bawumia, former Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, the Chief of Staff, Mrs. Osei Frema Opare, National Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Stephen Ayensu Ntim, General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong, former presidential aspirants, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, Council of Elders of the NPP, the Diplomatic Community, Party Executives and Party sympathizers.
