The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Monday November 4, 2024, commenced his tour of the Ashanti Region in the Atwima Mponua, Atwima Nwabiagya North and Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituenies.
He has shared his vision and policies for Ghana’s next chapter in various engagements with Chiefs, Imams, Clergy, Youth, Stakeholders and the people. These policies include tax amnesty, harnessing the sun and wind to generate energy to support Ghana’s current source of energy, zero duty on the importation of solar panels, free tertiary education for persons living with disabilities, expansion of educational infrastructure, reposition Ghana’s education system towards STEM and AI, one student one laptop for tertiary students, easy passport acquisition with the GhanaCard, training of 1,000,000 youth, establishment of the Ghana Sports Secretariat, full automation of the Tema Port, tax incentives for producers and musicians, reduce cost of internet data, among other game-changing policies.
Dr. Bawumia further highlighted on the achievements of Government which include the expansion of roads, construction of interchanges, expansion of educational infrastructure, the Ghana Card, QR code, TVET, STEM schools, Tap ‘n’ Go, mobile money interoperability, Free SHS, paperless port system, online passport application, the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) skills training, the Bitumen Plant at Tema, Agenda 111, 1 District 1 Factory, 1 District 1 Warehouse, digitalization of membership and renewal of National Health Insurance, ECG App, Ghana Water Company Limited App, supply of construction machines to all Constituencies across the country under the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP), among others.
“I am confident that Ashanti Region will join the 15 other regions to elect a President whose oft-stated aim is to work assiduously to make life easier and better for every Ghanaian, with a track record to back it up”, he noted.
Dr. Bawumia has expressed appreciation to them for their warm reception and has urged them to vote for him and the NPP Presidential Candidates in their respective Constituencies in the December 7 polls.
