Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has on November 26, 2023, joined the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Asanteman to celebrate the ninth and last Akwasidae of the year, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
Dr. Bawumia received a mammoth welcome from the Asantehene, Asanteman and people from all walks of life at the durbar, which characterized a rich and colourful display of the Ashanti culture.
The Akwasidae festival is celebrated once every six months, with a total of nine celebrations yearly. In attendance were Stephen Ntim (NPP National Chairman), Justin Koduah (NPP General Secretary), Bernard Antwi Bosiako (NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman), Honourable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu (Majority Leader), Honourable Mathew Opoku Prempeh (Energy Minister), Honourable Osei Yaw Adutwum (Education Minister), Ambrose Dery (Interior Minister), among others.
