H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic and an aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership position, has on Saturday, August 26, 2023, topped the polls of the Super Delegates Conference held in 17 venues across the country, with a total of 629 votes representing 68.15%.
The Super Delegates Conference is a buildup to the November 4 Conference, where over 200,000 delegates of the NPP across the length and breadth of the nation will exercise their franchise, to elect a flagbearer for the party in the 2024 polls.
Dr. Bawumia appears to be in a good position to win the flagbearer ship race and lead the NPP to break the eight.
The 17 venues where the Super Delegates Conference were held include, NPP National Headquarters (Greater Accra Region), Pastoral Centre, Sefwi-Wiaso (Western North Region), Great Hall Takoradi Technical University (Western Region), Catholic Secretariat, Ho (Volta Region), Dambai College of Education (Oti Region), Old University for Development Studies Campus, Wa (Upper West Region), Bolgatanga Technical University Library Complex (Upper East Region), Damongo Youth Centre (Savannah Region), Naleirugu Secondary (North East Region), Tamale College of Education (Northern Region), YMCA Adabraka (Greater Accra), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Faculty of Law Kumasi (Ashanti Region), Pastoral Centre, Goaso (Ahafo Region), Pastoral Centre, Sunyani (Bono Region), Kokroko Social Centre, Techiman (Bono East Region), Quandrangle University of Cape Coast (Central Region) and Koforidua Secondary Technical School (Eastern Region).
