Government is committed to expanding healthcare – Vice President Bawumia

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Friday October 25, 2024, joined the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, his fellow Muslims and other guests for the opening of the 4th National Muslim Conference of Ghana (NMCG) in Accra, themed: “Towards Bridging the Gaps in National Healthcare Delivery in Ghana: The Role of the National Muslim Conference of Ghana.”

Dr. Bawumia has reiterated government’s commitment to “expanding access to healthcare through major interventions, including the revival of the National Health Insurance Scheme, provision of ambulances to all constituencies, establishment of e-pharmacy and Zipline Medical Drone Delivery Service, and the construction of Agenda 111 health facilities in districts without hospitals.”

He has also urged all participants to uphold Ghana’s peace, unity, and diversity, particularly as we approach the 2024 election.
