H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic, has on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, cut sod for construction works to commence on a 100-bed District hospital at Ejura Sekyeredumase, in the Ashanti Region.
The project is under Government’s flagship Agenda 111 Programme designed to ensure that every district in Ghana has a hospital. Upon completion, the hospital will have state-of-the-art equipments such as CT-Scanner, Hematology Analyzer, among others.
“We want to ensure that every district in Ghana has a hospital. We have six new regions, so we are also building regional hospitals, as well as upgrading the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital in the Western Region”, he said.
Dr. Bawumia has also commissioned the Headquarters and other facilities of the newly created Ashanti North Regional Police Command at Mampong, as well as an Operating Base for the Formed Police Unit (FPU) at Adidwan near Ejura.
He added that, “These and many more interventions are concrete signs of Government’s commitment to securing the lives and safety of all persons resident in Ghana”.
