I trust Bawumia’s integrity when it comes to corruption- Sulemana Braimah.

Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa(MFWA) Sulemana
Braimah says he trusts the integrity of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on
matters of corruption. He asserted that it is legitimate for questions to be asked about
how Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will fund his flagbearership campaign.
According to Sulemana Braimah, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is noted amongst the New
Patriotic Party(NPP) for not making money through corrupt and illegitimate means as
it is often done in political circles to raise funds for campaigns.
His assertion comes at the back of an investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas
which captured a former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry Charles Adu
Boahen engaging in influence peddling and mentioning the name of the Vice
President for monetary gains.
Speaking on Joy Fm’s Newsfile monitored by  MyNewsGh.com , Sulemana Braimah
intimated that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been reported by members
of the New Patriotic Party as one who does not avail opportunities for monetary gains.
“I also hold the view that on the basis of what I have heard from people, I’ll want to
trust the integrity of the Vice President when it comes to matters of corruption. In fact,
I have on several occasions interacted with persons within the NPP who have said that
one of the biggest challenges for the Vice President in terms of this presidential or
flagbearership race would be the opinion people have of him that he is quite stingy
and that he doesn’t give,” he said.
He further stated that “Contractors approach him on the basis of certain terms and the
Vice President would not agree. So, it is legitimate for people to often say we wonder
where he is going to get money for his flagbearership campaign.
