“We have to be thankful to God”- Dr. Bawumia tells members of the NPP.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), has held it’s annual thanksgiving service at the party’s
headquarters in Accra, on December 29, 2022, themed, “We are grateful God”.
Speaking at the service, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the republic of
Ghana, expressed gratitude to God for the numerous achievements by the Akufo-Addo led
administration in the last six (6) years of assuming office, and has urged all party faithful to join
in one accord and thank the Lord.
“We have laid more fibre optic cables to drive our digitalization than any other government
since independence and we are building more hospitals especially under Agenda 111, than any
other government since the independence of Ghana”. “…We have implemented the Ghana
Card, 17million people have been enrolled. Today if you’re a student and you have the Ghana
Card, you don’t need a guarantor to get a students’ loan to go to university…”, he said.

H.E. Dr. Bawumia says, the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the history of the
fourth republic has created more jobs, constructed more roads, built more classrooms to boost
Ghana’s education sector, built more railways and airports than any other government.

“…because of our investments in water and sanitation, Ghana has not experienced even one (1)
case of Cholera in the last six (6) years under this administration…” “…We are a government of
ideas, transformational ideas and in the last six (6) years, we are thankful to God for the ideas
that this government has been able to implement. One (1) constituency one (1) ambulance, one

(1) district one (1) factory, one (1) village one (1) dam, Zongo development fund, planting for
food and jobs, zipline drones which are delivering medicine all across the country”, he added.
To add to the numerous reasons the NPP has to be thankful to God are the restoration of the
teacher and nursing trainee allowances, the free TVET, the free S.H.S policy, the nationwide
property address system, the paperless port system, the online passport application, the mobile
money interoperability where Ghana is the first to implement in Africa, the enrolment and/or
renewal of the National Health Insurance Scheme, and the electricity credit purchase at the
comfort of your home thanks to the Digital Ghana Agenda.
“Today, we have implemented a new policy that the public and the country will see it’s benefits
in the next few months, Gold for Oil, and that is going to reduce the demand at the Bank of
Ghana for foreign exchange and bring down the fuel prices. You have already seen the fuel
prices coming down, these are new ideas, transformational ideas”,
“…These are all ideas that the country is benefiting from and these are ideas that did not exist
before and we have God Almighty to thank”, he said.
H.E. Dr. Bawumia acknowledged that challenges will always be there and therefore, there is no
doubt that the NPP is the best bid to tackle these challenges as they have performed
tremendously well in the last six (6) years. In attendance were the General Secretary and
National Women’s Organizer of the party, Justin Frimpong Kodua and Kate Gyamfua
respectively, who among other party faithful, expressed gratitude to God.
